Looking to get to know your neighbors?
Join a committee or sign up for a volunteer project - it's a great way to meet new friends and connect with old friends!
Below is a brief overview of some of the FWC committees. For additional information, or to sign up for a committee, please contact the appropriate Board member, or contact our Membership Chair - Stephanie Jefferson @ fwcmembership@gmail.com
Neighborhood Improvement Committee
The Neighborhood Improvement Committee identifies, recommends and coordinates Board-approved improvement projects having a positive impact on the overall Fan neighborhood. The Neighborhood Improvement Committee has volunteer opportunities throughout the year. The Committee also usually participates in the Fan District Association's park clean up events. One to three hours is all one would need to volunteer. Volunteers do not need to be Master Gardeners - all skill levels are welcome! Volunteers are asked to bring their own yard equipment (gloves, clippers, spades, etc.) and weed, prune, and plant.
Progressive Dinner
Manage and coordinate all efforts required to support the annual FWC Fan dine-around in other members’ Fan homes. The committee will obtain hosts for the various courses, assign homes to attendees, prepare and issue invitations, oversee subcommittees.
Hospitality Subcommittee
Reporting to the Vice President, the Hospitality Subcommittee is responsible for creating an inviting and welcoming atmosphere for FWC members and guests at monthly Club meetings. To this end, they will recruit and coordinate volunteers required to provide refreshments, and to set up and cleanup at each meeting and provide an appropriate acknowledgement of thanks to the hostess.
Audit Subcommittee
At the conclusion of each year, the Vice President will appoint an Audit Committee which will audit the Treasurer’s accounts when books are closed (June 30) and provide a summary audit report at the August Board meeting. The audit committee will include two members of the Executive Board and an at-large member of the FWC. Should FWC finances exceed $50,000 per annum, the committee will include a contracted CPA.
